AMD Quad core A8 vs core i3

Hi,
I am planning to buy a laptop at the cost of <25000rs for my education purpose. Can anyone suggest me, what processor is better for my use. i will use below things regularly,

VMware player (or) Oracle virtual box.

The models are important however the A8 will be slower in daily use for single threaded applications due to AMD having 4 cores while the the i3 has 2cores/4threads. However multitasking means that the 4 cores are taken advantage of and the A8 Pulls ahead.
