analog to digital conversion

my soundbar has only optic wire connection, i bought a digital to analog converter but i think it should be the other way around.because the optic and coaxial are both input and the output is r/l. should i cancel my order? my tv is a westinghouse and my soundbar is lg

If your TV has analog audio outputs you need an analog to digital converter like this one
