In order to get the W10 Anniversary Update, i will have to remove my now outdated version of Symantec Endpoint Protection. My question is this: Should i hold off the update for a few months in order to get a new copy, or should i just uninstall and use Avast? What are the detection rates, and overall protection of either product? I've used Symantec for years (Norton is home use, Symantec is Enterprise but is just fine for home usage, also, * Norton) and i am not sure if i wish to leave. As an alternative, i can also use a copy of McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.8 i have laying around.

Or use Defender.

I don't think you'll ever find one company that will be the best, and stay there for years. If you look at reviews and statistics, they all move up and down on the list monthly - nobody stays at the top for long. They are all good, and some are better at certain things than others, but If we're just talking about detection and protection if viruses, than they are all good enough and will provide satisfactory protection. This doesn't mean that they are perfect because they're not, and there's a possibility of getting an infection with any of them.

Thank you both very much, due to the free nature of Avast, I think that I will use it, based on the information provided in the link. Have a good day...
