Do i really need to buy antivirus software for my samsung mobile phone? Had phone for one week & it's frozen. Returned to carphone warehouse who say that they believe it has a virus & will have to pay to have it removed.
To be honest, mobile antivirus is a gigantic scam. It's entirely unnecessary and it's a con the AV companies have devised to trick people into paying for more software which they'll never use or see any benefit from.
The best thing to do is a hard reset, this will wipe the phone completely and return it to factory condition. If it still isn't working after, it means there's something wrong with the initial Android installation. If the phone is only a week old, there's no reason at all why the carrier shouldn't be replacing it.
Turn it off. Make sure it's plugged in. Hold volume down + power until a menu appears (if it doesn't work try volume up). Navigate using the volume keys and the power button the make selections. Find the factory reset option and confirm that's what you want to do. Let it do it's thing, it will only take about ten minutes.
