I've been eagerly awaiting the announcement of a Dell Mobile Precision workstation with a Sandy Bridge processor. The general assumption is that the 17" version will be called the M6600. But so far there's no hint on a release date.

Does anyone have a clue regarding when that baby will be available for purchase?

I've mostly been doing a Google daily search with the string "+Dell +M6600", and using the "Past 24 hours" filter. Basically what keeps on coming up is a supposed leak by a Dell engineer in December about the M6600 and M4600 hardware specs. Somehow that particular writeup ends up copied around to a variety of hardware/laptop rumor sites.

The Dell Precision M6600 is equipped with a 17.3-inch White-LED and RGB-LED LCD options + Touch-Screen option, an AMD FirePro M8900 2GB GDDR5, NVIDIA Quadro 3000M 2GB GDDR5, and Quadro 4000M 2GB GDDR5 graphics card. The Dell Precision M4600 comes with a 15.6-inch White-LED and RGB-LED LCD options + Touch-Screen option, an AMD FirePro M5950 1GB GDDR5, NVIDIA Quadro 1000M 2GB GDDR5, and Quadro 2000M 2GB GDDR5 graphics card.

Thanks, I had seen those specs. The detail I'm looking for is when Dell will start selling it. I'm trying to decide whether to get an M6600 (my first choice by far), just get an M6500, or get a Sandy Bridge notebook from some other vendor.
