Does anyone make any software to do the following: connect your PocketPC to
your desktop, and have a window on your desktop which shows you exactly what
the PocketPC is doing. Then you can use your desktop's keyboard and mouse to
work in that window as if you were using the PocketPC device directly? Kind
of a reverse virtual network client app (the PocketPC would run the server
end). I'd like to sometimes have the convinience of using my PocketPC from
the larger screen and keyboard/mouse of my desktop. I know I can see the
file system of the PocketPC with the ActiveSync app, but I want to not just
see the files, but to be using it (and its software) directly in a window on
my Desktop. Is this possible and if so, what software would you recommend?
Thanks!

Remote Display Control is IMHO the best solution.
There's also an option of installing VNC Server at Your PocketPC, but
I've never tried to install it.

It seems slow via activesync. Is there any speed increase if I used network
instead?

I have found version 2.03 which is quite old, but after some struggling
with it I managed to connect my Ipaq hx4700 to my desktop pc. I have
found that this program makes a mess of the screen, I suppose it does
not support correctly the VGA-sized screen of the 4700, thus
representing it in QVGA size with an anti-aliasing that makes little
characters from VGA-enabled applications totally unreadable.

Can anyone suggest some better solution? I'd really love to use
something like this.

Thanks

Now this is good! Since I don't want to install all the fuss for a
single program modification, could you please send me the modified
cerdisp2.exe (or cerdisp.exe) by e-mail?

Thanks.

I finaly got my 4705 connected wirelessly and I don't see any speed
increase. It's just as slow and sluggish as before.

Isn't there anything better out there? Or are we simply stuck with an
aweful bottleneck?
