Apparently quad-core, mobile i7 have switchable graphics

So yesterday, my brightness wasn't working. I couldn't change it no matter what I tried, restarting, reinstalling drivers, power options, I could not seem to fix it. So I contacted HP support and here's what the guy suggested I do:

Apparently, my i7-720M supports switchable graphics. Why have I been letting this 5850 stay on the entire time?

Notice where it says "No" next to integrated graphics. Jacob needs to brush up on his stuff.

I'm pretty sure he knows now. I made it quite clear that it didn't have integrated graphics.
