[citation][nom]BSMonitor[/nom]No, actually I don't get your point... This is somehow different than the 350 million zombie cult followers called American citizens that fill up their gasoline tanks 4 times a week allowing Exxon to rake in 40 billion in profit a year.[/citation]
thing is that in america fuel is cheap :) you should see romania twice the price on regular than in USA ... and we can`t say we have the same wages like in the states. As for Apple .. that`s what you get when you have a brand that is cool to have ..i have a lot of friends buying iphones just because this is the new cool in phones.

It's quite important that electronics bussiness are overpassing the oil industry (which keeps us burning oil, which is a real waste of a precious resource). Just think about lithium batteries and when and which bussiness started to invest and research on them...

With the world economy heading back into the toilet, Exxon has more growth potential than Apple. If people have to be careful with their money and actually put thought into what to spend it on, they are going to choose to fill up their gas tanks rather than buy more iDevices. Exxon will be viable in good times and bad, because people always need their products.

Maybe Apple could get into the alternative fuel business and actually make it mainstream.

wait wait wait... So a few years ago the Gov't was after gas companies for 'windfall profits' when they were only making 11-12%, apple makes a solid 25% profits and are left alone. I suppose the difference is that exon makes something we need, while apple sells drugs to addicts.

My "Tom's" reading fellows, let's see the downside, Apple is a slave to the whims of naive consumers. These consumers are fickle and will flock to the next cool thing. In my corner of Europe, their gadgets are the must have if you earn over average, they have the cool factor.
Regarding to Apple being anti competitive(as one commenter hinted above me), Intel used to pay OEMs not to buy AMDs, Apple pays component vendors not to sell to competitors; like how they had new Intel processors and chipsets ahead of the PC market the same market that frickin' nurtured Intel into the successful company that is today. Is that anti competitive ? Well on principle I think it is, but having a low market share they are allowed to fly under radar.

Never underestimate the stupidity of people. This is all I can get from Apple's success at fleecing people with nicely cased drm infested retroware.

[citation][nom]hardcore_gamer[/nom]WOW...A talking spambot!!!![/citation]
I very smart talking bot! Bawhahahah!!!!111!!!
I can't believe some still don't get that was a internal joke. :pt1cable:
And I would have never new Rosewill makes BBQ set if I haven't started random looking at the egg.

Seriously about the article, how long did Apple take the lead over Exxon because
right now a bunch of Apple worshipers are having buttsech for like the last 12 hours! 😛

@farleytron
It's Exxon Mobil not Exxon Mobile. They don't make phones, they make GAS!
And GAS are explosive!

Amazing a tech company to achieve that status. At least Apple produces something unlike all these other "valuable" fraudulent companies.

[citation][nom]officeguy[/nom]I guess dollar wise Apple wins on the books, otherwise this article wouldn't makes since. That means to me that we are more dependant on Ipads, Ipods, Iphones, Iwhatever, instead of transportation, heating our home, industrial use, fuel for cargo ships, etc...[/citation]

Which is the said truth and actually a little bit of the reason why we're in the economic situation that is current (exporting raw material to the same guy that makes useless garbage with it and importing/buying it for 3x its worth).

Leave it to the rich (apple) to pick on the others (android).Leave the rest of us alone and swim in you foul earned money.

The cult of people blindly following apple thinking they are so much better because they are stable and do graphics etc... and dont get viruses are in for a suprise..They do crash and now that the user base is increasing hackers are now starting to develope malware for apple products (Macs, Iphone, etc...).. why pay twice as much for somethng hat has no benefits other than a different OS 9which lacks so many options)?

It is always funny how people on this site love to troll about Apple this and Apple that. They bring up a bunch of myths and act like there is some kind of religion behind why a company is successful. Give me a break. Is it not religion to come on this site everyday looking for Apple news to troll on with the same shit over and over again. Some people have legitimate beef but most just troll cause it is the popular thing to do on a predominantly PC enthusiast site.

Personally, as a person that loves technology and an engineer myself I appreciate good solid engineering no matter who makes it or what it is. You guys are so busy being on the Anti-Apple Everything bandwagon that you don't/can't back up any of your arguments with facts based on experiences and objective comparisons. Just mindless rants about the people that buy the stuff.

[citation][nom]bejabbers[/nom]I'm surprised there haven't been any anti-trust suits filed against apple yet...[/citation]

Don't get worked up yet to say, rather of time based interest or not at times to say. Apple has been filing for alot of patents. Along with others. Along with other interests to say as well.

Apple's value is almost entirely in stocks. Exxon Mobile owns how many multi-billion dollar structures, tankers, refineries, and how much oil rich land? Exxon's business also brings in enough revenue to buy out a company like Apple every year if it wanted to. Exxon Mobile's real value dwarfs Apple's by huge factors.
