apple TV and pioneer plasma PDP 4270HD

Connected directly through HDMI port on apple TV and Pioneer -but I get nothing. Went through the set up listed in pioneer manual of choosing input 5 or 6 and choosing video and video signals. Tried both input ports - and every combination of signal choices -- still nothing. There must be something simple I am doing wrong - but i can't figure out what it is -- any suggestions? thanks for the help!

Try reducing the video resolution of the Apple TV to 720p. It may be set too high for a TV that has native resolution of 1024x768.
