They're fairly cheap but I don't know how good they are?

Define 'good'?

Speaker choice is an incredibly personal choice. I have heard some terrible speakers Imo but their owners think they are brilliant

Unless you have been exposed to studio quality speakers what benchmark do you have to compare quality

Is the speakers main advertising/selling point the performance of the speakers and not something purely aesthetic: no.

Signs point to not being very good.
