Arize TP1000 - lip synch?

Brand new user, at this point, I just got a small Ku band dish
installed to access one specific FTA channel.

And I don't know much about the technology yet...

One question though: my Ariza tp1000 seems to suffer from the
"lip-sync" problem.

Just from searching for info, it seems it's a known issue with
receivers in satellite and other digital tv.

But apparently most equipment doesn't suffer from the problem...
judging by how few people discuss it.

If I leave the receiver on for hours, the lip-sync lag stretches to
something around 1/2 second (picture is late, sound is early). The
station is Cubavision International, PAS-9.

To fix it, I can just turn the receiver off and on, or change the
channel. And all is perfectly in sync... for a while.

What does this say about the equipment, is it considered acceptable or
not these days?

I don't know much about this either,but I remember one channel I watch,LLBN
on AMC4\ku has that problem and I was told that it was due to low quality
and yet since I've had a different receiver,I have yet to have that same
problem,so did they upgrade (brian G. are u reading this?)....or is it the
receiver(Fortec Lifetime Ultra vs. Pansat 2100a)?

If the Lip Sync goes wrong intermittently then it has got nothing to do
with the satellite, however it is bufferring problem with ur reciever
box, because every reciever box buffers some amount of video frames (
depending upon its capacity 4mb, 8mb, .... ) and when it skips a few
frames it still picks up the current audio thereby causing lip sync
outage.
Please try resetting the PID of audio and video of your box to zero.
Atleast in my case it helped, not sure if ur box gives u that option or
not.
