[citation][nom]f-14[/nom]it would be funny if this was the infinityward guys just "claiming" their bonus that activision promised them.[/citation]

Not sure.
The game was made possible by the developers.
To see high level executives, and CEO's kick back and put millions in the bank, when they aren't the creative minds that actually created the source code, and associated data which is the dna of the game, is rather comical.

Picture some activision executives kicking back, smoking cigar's, patting each other on the back saying nice job, we are millionaires, even though we didn't create the game. Since we have so much $$ now via record profits from this game, let's cut the developers out of their justified and due $125 million+.

Money is the root of all evil folks.

[citation][nom]the_al[/nom]Blackops was not made by the same crew that made Modern Warfare 2.A new crew came in, worked with code created by a team that is gone, and are going to try to profit off the success of the brand, that was made possible by infinity ward. Activision is the epitomy of a leech, and a symbiotic parasite.[/citation]

Infinity ward never worked on Black Ops (and no "new crew" came in). Treyarch was the developer of this version (same with World at War). Infinity ward and Treyarch switch every other game (which gives each more dev time, while activision gets regular cash flows). So stop going on about what happened at IF; it is a shame and one reason I wont buy activision games again, but get your facts right.

If they open and immediately return those games, Gamestop will buy them back at 5 dollars each
and repackage them as new to sell for 60 again. Who are the real criminals?

The IW lawsuit should've put a halt order on any code that was developed by them. It'd be hilarious if Activision couldn't release anything IW touched while they jerked around in court for years.

My facts are right.
It's a completely different game, that works on an existing code base. It's not done from scratch.

They are profiting off the noteriety/brand name made possible by infinity ward.

Get your business concepts right, and marketing right before you try a rebuttal.
These people are riding the Modern Warfare2 coe-tails(sp?) made possible by the original infinity ward/MW2 crew.

Blackops will be nothing like Modern Warfare 2.
Everyone should wait for respawn entertainments first release.

I never said Infinity Ward worked on BlackOps, unless my typing made it sound incorrect.
This new team is using a brand name made possible by the original west/zampella Infinity Ward crew. So sad, they are leeching off a brand name made possible by a completely superior team that is now Respawn Entertainment.

[citation][nom]tgtechie23[/nom]The only thing worth buying this month was my hackintosh. Iam running windows and OSX. I game on my 24" with my GFX card I got in there. If anyone needs a hackytosh best people to go is macsrpcs.com they got some bad a55 machines..I wish I would have afforded their 12-Core system but maybe next year. Maybe by Xmas I can get the 980x setup from them...!!!! I play Starcraft 2, call of duty, medal of honor, do some light video editing work on the Mac side. Check it out[/citation]
And I guess you forgot that if one buys something, to put your name as reference so you earn a commision?
mmmmm.....no thanks.

It isn't a new crew. Treyarch developed CoD: 3, CoD: World at War and some lesser known CoD titles. So yeah, they might have used the same code, but it is a team that had developed CoD games in the past as well. However, since it was labled CoD: Black Ops, and not MW3, it wasn't blocked by Infinity Ward, like MW3 has been.

Not saying right or wrong on Activision's part, or playing favorites for any of the developers (I don't actually play CoD titles, my son does), just clearing a bit of it up. :)

[citation][nom]djhg2000[/nom]At least they can't blame it on PLAYING the game this time...[/citation]

Trust me, the media will find a way.

In the future, the worlds armies will be computer gaming geeks and they will battle on the intranets. Millions on "gamers" [read:soldiers] will battle at workstations and kill each other "virtually". Expect the Japanese and Chinese to prevail as their 'armies' are better adapted to gaming scenario warfare. They may not have the best gamers but they do have a higher quantity of top-notch elite gamers and sheer numbers will prevail. All the games they produce now are the prelims for future warriors and training. Eventually battle dress will be fitted headgear and "controllers" to bring an immersion quality to the interface. A 'holodeck' would be the ultimate result. Also, all soldiers who 'die' in battle would be marched into a vaporization chamber to culminate their actually death coinciding with their virtual death. This will also give incentive to play better and eliminate the slackers who might not play their best if they didn't think death was an actuality.
