ASUS Aptio Setup Utility. Help!

I have an asus model R556L Notebook about a month ago it started making a very odd sound which can be described as a death rattle. Shortly after it started making that sound the Blue Screen of Death appeared. When my computer restarted it took me to the blue aptio setup utility. After several times of turning it on and off again it started working again thank god. Then several weeks later it did the same thing and I fixed it the same way. Yesterday it started doing the same thing again. After it finally started working I discovered my anti virus had lapsed and I downloaded a new one. To be on the safe side I want to use a ml aware destroyer program given to a friend by my schools it department but before I could use it my computer started acting up again. It only makes the sound right before going to the aptio page and not while on the page. My computer now won't go any further than this page. Please someone help me I have exams next week and assignments I need to work on. I've already looked at several threads and tapping f9 on the splash page does not work and it also won't allow me to select launching the csm and says it is disabled. Please help!

Hi,

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that I've suggested with others who had the same problem.

- Do a hard reset first, remove the Battery and AC adapter from your laptop then press and hold the power button for 20 seconds. Plug just the AC adapter then see if it will get pass the BIOS screen (Aptio setup utility).
- If it doesn't boot up normally reset BIOS to defaults first, remove the CMOS battery for couple of seconds then just plug it back in and power the laptop again.
- Lastly, remove the HDD then power the laptop on and see if it will get pass the BIOS screen and if it does turn it back off put the HDD back in and if gets stuck again you know the suspect already.
- If the laptop won't still get pass the BIOS screen it's the motherboard that has the issue.
- You really need to send it for a repair if this is the case.
