ASUS Computer front jack won't recognize built-in mic from my headphones when plugged in.

Hi Guys! I need help! I just recently purchased a desktop PC, ASUS and there are two front jack panels. One is made for headphones and one is made for mic. I have a headphone with a built-in mic but the computer won't recognize the mic but the headphone works fine. I've been researching around and I'm not sure how to fix this particular issue. Any help? Thanks!

If I understand you correctly, your single plug has both audio and mic on it so you need something like THIS
