Hello, So I was looking into two particular laptops and I am unable to decide which one of the two to pick. I am not looking to spend anymore than what their list price is and I want something for the long haul i.e. something that will last me a minimum of 5-6 years. I plan to ride them to the ground. I have always owned a desktop but it has become too cumbersome to move every time.

The two laptops I am looking at are:

1) http://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/productdetails/alienware-17-laptop/dkcwkblg44s for 1899.99

2) http://www.excaliberpc.com/configurator/configure.html?id=647416 for 1599.99

My main concern is reliability. I have had mixed feelings about alienwares before, between all members of my family, we have owned 2 alienwares and 2 ASUS and so far ASUS is 2-0 alienware with respect to lasting longer than 3 years at a minimum.

However, I haven't had an alienware since R1 and I wonder if things have changed since this is the new R4.

I have heard concerning reviews regarding the G752VS with respect to heat dissipation and keyboard problems. But the G-Sync feature does make it attractive.

Can you guys please help suggest which of these two to go with?

Both laptops will be able to play games for a long time. I have only owned asus machines so can't say about the alienware. Asus machines last a long time.
