First, thanks for viewing this thread. (I'm kinda new here) As you can see from the title, I'm debating whether should I buy ASUS ROG GL551JM or Lenovo Y50. Both of them look super awesome and very cost effective but there is a slight difference in their performance that makes really hard for me to decide. Here are the links on Amazaon:
http://www.amazon.com/GL551JM-DH71-GeForce-GTX860M-Optimus-Technology/dp/B00MMMMMX2/ref=cm_cd_ql_qh_dp_t#Ask
http://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Y50-Laptop-Computer-Generation/dp/B00KD5DUR2/ref=cm_cd_al_qh_dp_t

Main differences of Lenovo Y50 vs [ASUS GL551JM] with my side notes:
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M 4GB vs [GTX 860M 2GB GDDR5 + Optimus Technology.] Is it worth using 4GB on 860M? Both are from Maxwell.
1TB 5400 RPM Hard Drive + 8GB SSD vs [256GB SSD] I can replace Lenovo's hard drive and SSD for around $140 later.
Dual fan, one for GPU one for CPU vs [Single fan on the left] Both of them are little toasty when gaming, specially the ASUS's but I have a cooling pad.
Costs: $1,249.00 + $8.99 shipping (original price is $1,599.99) vs [$1,199.00 (with 256GB SSD) + free shipping]
Not quite Fingerprint Magnet vs [Fingerprint Magnet with aluminum body] It is kind of a big pain for me :(
Perfect keyboad + two handed touch pad (not a big fan) vs [Not correctly labeled arrow keys + weirdly placed power button (top right in keyboad)] I guess it's whatever. I use a gaming mouse, I haven't used arrow keys for a month and my hands never go up to top right side number pads. Both touch pads have good finger & palm rejection.
The '4K' screen is locked at 48Hz refresh rate (not a problem, hard to notice) vs ["smooth refresh rate" (I guess it means 60Hz)]

This is a big decision for me. Any recommandation and side note are very welcome. GLHF, Thank so much guys!

You don't need 4gb of vram because I don't think the 860M can max out everything anyway -L
8gb ssd is not even worth mentioning tbh but since you can replace it then it's okay -L
Price difference -A
From what I saw they're both 1080p unless it's some kind of feature in which I missed out. You won't be playing at 4K because the GPU is too weak for 4K

I think you should get the Asus one if you can add in 1tb hard drive but if you can't then stick with Lenovo unless 256GB of space is enough for you then Asus XD

I agree. I checked out the lenovo y50 in real life (was seriuosly considering), but I kept reading reviews about how terrible the build quality (and esp. the display) is on the lenovo.
