Asus Laptop black screen

Hi guys I just encountered this problen a week ago. My laptop won't start and only black screen shows up. When I press the power button, the power light will turn on but the hard drive is not running. As in power light only. I tried holding the power button for 30-60 seconds like they said but still it's not working. Any idea what might be the problem and how to fix it? Thanks in advance.

Try removing the battery and just use wall power. If that does not work, try a different charger. If that does not work, you may need to replace the motherboard, check with ASUS support or a PC repair shop.

I always use my laptop without the battery. The hard drive is not booting up I guess.
