Asus laptop - can I stop sleeping when lid is closed

When I close the lid on my Asus X75A-DS31 laptop, it goes to sleep. This is fine 99% of the time, but sometimes I'll queue up a long process, like encoding a video for a couple hours, and I'd like to let the process continue while I have the lid closed.

I don't want to reconfigure it to always stay awake when closed, but something like holding down on the control key when closing the lid.

Is anything like this possible?

Just go to your power settings and on the left side there is a link that says something like choose what closing the lid does and you can set your options from there (do nothing, sleep, hibernate, shutoff are your options).

Edit: Sorry I missed part of your question, I am not aware of any hotkeys you can use to resleep it if you select the stay awake option other than to set a short push of your power button to hibernate/wake it under choose what the power button does settings.

The only other thing I can think of is you can probably write a "keep alive" batch file for the particular software you want this functionality tied to. I have done this to keep computers from sleeping while printing only for instance.
