I was given a friend's family member's ASUS T100TAF to try to fix. It had a boot issue, but Bitlocker wouldn't let me fix anything. So I just tried to format it and reinstall windows 8, but after wiping the drives it can't boot to usb anymore and I don't know how to fix that and googling hasn't helped at all. Here's what the boot menu in the BIOS looks like. https://i.imgur.com/QPdNEQF.jpg

There should be a setting in BIOS named USB Legacy Support. Set it to Enabled because if it isn't, there's no power to the USB Ports until an Operating System cuts in.

I'm not even seeing that option anywhere in the BIOS.

I'd put money on this being the problem. Power up and plug in a USB device that lights up. If it does, I'll climb down and shut up. 😀

I just tried two different things and both lit up just fine.

Well that helped me figure out my issue. Turns out I formatted the USB drive too when I did the laptop and I was attempting to boot with a blank USB stick. Thanks so much for your help.
