I bought an asus a540l laptop almost 15 days ago, it's been giving me some trouble. During the first 2 days everything was fine but then it got slow, started to freeze a lot. Whenever i would switch it on, the screen would go blank (while the hard disk is still working) and every time i have to force shutdown and turn it on again. I uninstalled windows 10 and currently I’m using Ubuntu (haven't installed it yet).
A few minutes ago it shut down by itself and I’m pretty sure it has nothing to do with overheating or dust because it's a brand new laptop and I’m already using a cooling pad and its pretty cold here. So what exactly is the problem, something to do with windows 10 or malfunctioning hardware?
My laptop’s configration-
Intel Core i3 5th Gen
Dual Core, 2 GHz Clock Speed
4 GB DDR3 RAM(+ 4GB extended RAM)
1 TB Hard Disk
2 GB NVIDIA Graphics Card
15.6 inches, 1080 x 1920 pixels Screen
DOS OS

Solution
If it's not software, it must be hardware.

Unfortunately you can't really test what the problem could be since it's a laptop, everything is bound in place.

The only thing I can say is remove the extra RAM stick you added, see if that changes anything with just 4GB RAM.

If you still get problems, I highly recommend returning it.

I think you are right, but still i would lke to test it a bit more, i've been trying to install win 7 in my laptop from a bootable usb but it doesn't seem to recognize the usb device, however i am able to run ubuntu without any trouble, why?

You can not boot with win 7 , maybe it because of UEIF boot

I have this issue with my GL552vx , I bought it on Dec -2016

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=osJEkNxay84

After I reinstalled windows 10, the issue is still, it is just happened some times.

But it make me really angry.

It maybe cause of additional RAM and SSD

It is not happen with Ubuntu ( Only one times the Ubuntu stuck, not blank screen like with Windows 10)

Does anyone has the same issue with me?
