Asus laptop ram and SSD upgrade question

Hi, getting the ASUS K501UW here https/www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DT49XN8/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

It says the SSD is 512 gb m2 Sata iii. Can I put in a Crucial MX300 275GB SATA 2.5 Inch Internal Solid State Drive - CT275MX300SSD1 in the spare slot for an upgrade or can I only replace the existing SSD with this one?

The spare slot takes a standard 2.5 inch drive, not an m2 SSD like the primary drive slot.

Is that a 9mm or a 7mm? 2.5 drive?

The crucial drive I listed works fine. Not so sure about my RAM. My system info says:
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 16.0 GB
Total Physical Memory 15.9 GB
Available Physical Memory 7.92 GB

Does that mean one of my 8G sticks isn't working correctly? The laptop is quick and fully restarts & logs on in 30 seconds but just want to make sure
