Asus n550jk blank screen

Hey all, I just received a new asus n550jk laptop today and accidentally powered it on without charging it first. (Ac adapter plugged in though)The reason I'm concerned is because the screen stays black and the only indication that it's on is the power button illuminating. Is there anything I can do or is this just a lemon?

The new laptop/battery charge thing shouldnt be an issue anymore. If you are trying to turn it on and nothing comes up on the screen, not even bios, just go back to where you got it and get it exchanged.

Yeah it's completely blank, I guess she's going back to amazon. Thanks for your help.
