I'm looking at this laptop, and can't really find any more information on it than what's listed on that page. I'm wondering if anyone knows any more details about this model, or (even better) actually owns one.

Display quality / viewing angle? IPS display?
Matte or glossy screen?
Battery life?
Heat / noise level?

I found the generic page on the N56JK series on Asus' web site, but couldn't find any specifics on the individual models. Does that information even exist??????

I'm also looking at the N551JQ-DS71, but I'd rather go with the N56JK since its video card is better, I just can't find any details on it.

The display is quite decent quality, 1080P with good colors. The horizontal viewing angles are good, but the vertical viewing angles are just OK. It is a TN display, with a matte screen.

Battery life is good w/ average use (web surfing, e-mail, documents, etx.) It's probably close to the 5 hours that reviews give it. I've never used if for more than a couple of hours, but in that time have never gotten it below about 70% charge. It does have a removable battery.

Heat and noise levels have been good for me, although I have not used it for gaming. It's very quiet, and the keyboard doesn't get hot. The only heat is at the left side exhaust. The next generation after the N56 (N550) ASUS went with a different cooling system that did not work as well, so they reverted to the same cooling system as the N56 with the generation following the N550 (N551.) The N551 is physically very similar to the N56, except that it has silver rather than black keys. (Most people wish it had the black keys, so in some ways one might consider the N56 to be more desirable than the latest generation.)
