Hello everyone,

After replacing my HDD on my asus n750jv, the keys : Y, U, H, J have stopped working. I am very careful when I change the hard drive.

I tried to :
  • replaced the flexible cable (see attached)
  • Reinstall all drivers
  • Reinstall Windows
But still not working. I didnt check the keyboard side behind the motherboard. The cable is connected or fixed to the motherbord ?

There is a small scratch on the top of the cable, really light, It would surprise me if that was the problem.

Any ideas ?

Also, since a long time, my laptop switch to battery when its plug in (very second). My battery work fine when its not plug in. I remove the battery and its work fine without the battery too.

You can find attached 3 photos.

Thank you very much guys.

Actually, depending on how deep it goes into the cable, a scratch could be enough to do it. So can the cable being bent to tightly, pinched, torn, etc. And yes it does connect to the motherboard. If you replaced the cable you would have had to change the whole thing, from display to motherboard. If not, then it wasn't the right cable. It should not be permanently attached to the motherboard, just sometimes a pain to attach/remove.

If the cable is even a little loose it can cause keys to not work correctly. I suggest you relook at the cable and its connections.
