ASUS R704A-OH91 CPU Replacement

Hello everyone

Hopping that someone can help, I wanted to replace ASUS R704A-OH91 laptop processor for a faster one. After doing an intensive research found the right replacement for a Pentium B980. Found a compatible replacement (socket, chipset, microarchitecture, etc). Replacement is an Intel Core i5-2540M. After replaced CPU the laptop won't power up at all, I then placed back the original Pentium B980 with same results. Laptop won't power up, there's a solid LED light On on the motherboard but it won't power up at all.

Any ideas? Any type of help would be greatly appreciated.

Does the socket appear to be damaged? Did you make sure the screw on the socket used to release and secure the CPU was turned to lock the CPU in place?

Hi, First try re-seating the ram after which you should try taking out your battery and hold the power button down for 1 minute.
