Hi

I just bought ASUS ROG 702VM Spec:

17.3" 120 Hz
I7 7700HQ
16 GB DDR4 RAM 2400MhZ
GTX1060 6GB

When I play battlefield 1 on my laptop it gets very hot. About 80-90 degrees, and the fans are blowing at high pressure.
I searched some forums and watched some YouTube videos on how to minimize heat and noise. It made me undervolte my CPU to -0,100 and turn off my CPU turbo, so it runs at 2.7Mhz and not 3.4Mhz. (Power settings, CPU from 100% to 99%)

It's still around 75 - 80 degrees when I play battlefield 1, and I only get about 80 FPS at medium settings, 1080p and 120hz.

Is this normal? Or how do i minimize heat and maybe noise?

Is it normal that I only get around 80 FPS avg? It sometimes hit 100 - 110 at medium settings, 1080p and 120hz? With -0,100 undervolt and CPU max power to 99%

When watching this with same spec:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NTodFlx63mI - He gets around 110 - 120 FPS, and heat at 70 degrees.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ac9ogKirkGQ&t=9s - David Lee gets avg 83 FPS on ULTRA

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sen_IQsv-mY - Also Ultra 1080p Avg 80 FPS

Thanks

Hi Johnny,
Since there is fan noise, I request you not to use the laptop until the issue is fixed. Using it further without fixing the issue, will make things complicated. 16GB RAM is sufficient. Since it is overheating, please update the BIOS and restart your PC.

I guess its already updated? The laptop is only two weeks old, and the laptop is brand new - 2017 model?
The fans kick in when it gets hot?
