I have narrowed down my laptop search to 2 laptops and would like opinions. The Lenovo is slimmer and just a little cheaper and the ASUS is bulkier but has better specs.

Lenovo: http/www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA68620D4753
Processor: Intel Core i7-4710HQ in both
Screen: 1080p 17" in both
RAM: 16GB DDR3 in both
Graphics: Lenovo- NVIDIA GeForce 860M 4GB
ASUS- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M 3GB
Storage: Lenovo- 512GB SSD
ASUS- 1TB HDD 256GB SSD
For those who have had experiences with either company I would like to hear opinions and recommendations. What I am mainly interested in knowing is battery life averages and how well both computers would be at managing heat levels.
