asus windows 10 labtop preparing automatic repair

my asus laptop windows 10 could not restart properly - says preparing automatic repair.. Then it gives me different options including the reset pc. I choose to reset pc and keep my files. after a while it says there is an error completing this task. Please assist.

Chances are pretty good it's a hard drive issue. If the system is on Windows 10 is it in warranty? Check with ASUS support.
If you need files off the system, you can try booting it with a Linux Live disk and copy the files to an external drive.
