my asus laptop usually runs just fine. recently, i’ll put my laptop in my backpack (fully charged) and walk to class and when I need it, it refuses to start. this happened once before winter break and i rushes back to my apartment, plugged it in, and it started up— it took a bit for it to run normally but it was fine after that! does the cold weather do anything to laptop batteries? do i need to start carrying my charger around everywhere? if i’m home and start up my laptop (off the charger) it seems just fine. this is the second time i ran into this problem and i genuinely don’t know what it could be..

edit: i’ve held down the power button for two minutes and nothing, no lights show up at all either :(

Solution
Yes, the cold effects batteries. I would suggest keeping the charger with you as an option and also making sure that the laptop is not out in the cold for long. Cold can damage the battery as well as other parts just like heat can.
