Solved! Asus x200m not working with new battery

I just installed a new battery in my Asus x200m notebook. Now threel of the 4 lights turn on, it charges, but no screen or anything. I plugged it in to an external monitor and nothing. Any thoughts? It worked fine before the battery died.

Is it actually turning on? Can you hear sounds from inside the laptop (fan, hard drive, etc.)?

If no sounds, it isn't turning on still. If there are sounds but no screen ... Try the external monitor again, but try it this way...

1. Turn the laptop off (not sleep or hibernate but off).
2. Connect an external monitor to the laptop.
3. Turn on the external monitor.
4. Turn on the laptop.

NOTE: You may have to press an "external monitor" button. Could be the f4 button or a button with two monitors on it, for the external monitor to work.

If you can see fine on the external monitor, then your attached display, or the ribbon cable that connects it, are your problem.

If you can't see on the external monitor at all, or the problem occurs on the external monitor as well, then it is probably the graphics card/GPU that is the problem, which may require the motherboard be replaced.

3 of the 4 lights turn on but no noises and the external monitor shows nothing no matter what.

If there are no sounds at all, not even little ones, coming from inside the laptop, it is possible that it isn't turning on at all.
