First, go into Control Panel>Hardware and Sound>Devices and Printers. Assuming your printer is shown there, right click on the icon for your printer and select Remove Device. Then, go to the top of the page and click on Add a Printer. Follow that process and you should be good. Be sure your printer is turned on during the whole removal and add process.
If the above doesn't work, then get out the manual for your printer and go through the complete installation process as shown in the manual.
