Yep iPad is overpriced. I am going to get the tablet that costs under $499, has better internals and battery life and the same resolution screen...oh wait...

At least $1.5 billion in 3 days... And the iPad still could be better than it is feature wise. The thing I don't like is that with the new resolution some of the apps will certainly take up more space (almost double in some cases) rendering the current capacity offerings less of a value. They should really up the storage capacities across the board.

[citation][nom]sesante2000[/nom]I love how everyday people use and love apple products. Yes, that includes doctors, surgeons, lawyers and so forth. You know, the kind of people that have high level degrees?Hope one day when you need help from one of these "dumb" people, You'll realize how stupid you sound.[/citation]

Wow, another Apple isheep trolling a PC Hardware site.

For your information, Apple iOS still has no access to Flash (or Java, Shockwave, Unity, etc.) ... so that's about 33% of websites that you still can't access.

So you mention doctors use iPads. Well the fact is that the following companies websites will not work properly on an iPad but will work flawless on Android devices for brokers, agents, providers, and insureds-
Select Health, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Anthem, Humana, United Healthcare, Altius, Coventry, Dental Select,Total Dental Admin, VSP, Colonial Life, etc

As far as Universities, here are few that will only work on Android devices because the websites use imbedded flash for lectures and do not work on the iPad -
Western Governors University, U of U, Utah State, UNLV, etc

Obviously you know nothing of the product you use, so who is the dumb one now?

You are.

I went to Humana and it immediately asked me if I wanted to get the App. I said NO and it redirected me to an iPhone specific version of their website.

United Healthcare loaded on my iPhone.

Altius loaded fine on my iPhone.

Colonial Life loaded fine. After that I stopped wasting my time responding to a troll who doesn't have a clue and talks out of his a$$.

You can view basic benefits online for Humana, UHC, Altius, etc on the iOS version, but you cannot run group rates as an agent, or quote individual plans, you cannot submit claims as a provider, and so forth. I could go on and on what you can do on a Android device but not iOS.

So please explain your uneducated answer. Like I said you can view 66% if the website, but you cannot use its full potential. By owning only an iOS device, you have no idea what is not available to you.

^ Now I see where you're coming from. You're trying to take a small portion of the population (people who have specific requirements like agents) and apply theIr needs to the entire population, and then make a conclusion that a particular product (iOS) isn't useful based on those specific needs. It's a common trick, and I'm surprised I didn't get it from your first post.

Using your flawed logic, I should go back to using Windows XP because many large corporations are still using it to maintain compatibility with their existing systems and avoid the expense and growing pains with updating to a new OS. Just like your "old boys club" still using outdated Flash to provide services.

And where did you get that 66% figure from? Did you do any empriical testing to arrive at that number? Or did you pull it out of your a$$? I'm betting the latter. In my house all the websites I or my family visit work fine on our iPads, either because they have an iOS specific mobile version of their site, an HTML5 version or even an App.

As an engineer I often have to search for components from sites like Infineon (for example). Their site requires Flash. I would never do any engineering work on an iPad, so it's a moot point that I can't browse Infineon components from my iPad. Anytime I'm working on a new piece of hardware I'll be using my workstation that runs all my work-related software (like Altium). BTW, in case you're wondering, I code for both iOS and Android and know both like the back of my hand. So anytime you want to get into a technical discussion regrding each system, I'm game.

I would LOVE for you to list this 33% of typical consumer sites that won't work with the iPad. And I'd alsolove for you to explain Androids dismal penetration into the Enterprise sector and why iOS is KILLING Android in this area. Or why Halliburton (for example) did a study on Android vs iOS and picked iOS. Since you seem to be so "educated".

FYI- I work for a software and website development company. The 33% is an estimate done by several research companies of websites that still only use Flash (or Java, Shockwave, Unity, etc.)

As I mentioned before, Several Universities are written in Flash for online lectures and training. So how many people attend Colleges in the US and how many are taking online classes?

Not only are we talking about Medical Insurance Industry, but also the Commercial side has the same issue for Workers Comp, Liability, Auto, Inland Marine, Property, Umbrella, etc. Such companies as Liberty Mutual, Nationwide, The Hartford, Auto Owners, Acuity, Cincinnati, Travelers, and so forth. I don't think you realize how many people train on these websites that are employees of the companies and also for agents for CLCS, etc training and continuing education that is mandated by the government to have so many hours each year.

Another type of websites that are written in Flash and Shockwave are many car manufactured websites. You can view them on an iOS, but you cant view a lot of the videos and 3D views.

Another example is Facebook, Most of the games and apps are written in Flash and will not work on iOS, some of the popular ones have been converted to work on iOS.

I didn't want to mention this subject, but since you asked, you can go on about how many pornographic websites use Flash and Shockwave player. I will leave it at that.

I could go on and on with other examples, but I see no point in doing so and I am done arguing with you because we will never agree so I will leave it at that and I respect your information that you mentioned.
