Enjoy it while it lasts AT&T because it has been made abundantly clear that Apple and iPhone customers are very much tired of your crappy network and crappy prices.

AT&T makes millions of dollars of profit with "Broadband".
Check their annual reports.
What is "Broadband"?
It is the distribution of Pr0n.

Same applies to Disney, GE, Commcast, etc.

Californication?

I wonder when they'll hit a record on the number of overheated/roasted Iphones...

probably soon enough!

... wtf are these comments?

I bought my first apple product, the iPhone 3GS a few days ago. I used to have the AT&T tilt and I loved it. I decided on the iphone because I'll be moving out of my house soon, and will be traveling a lot and I wanted access to the internet (buying internet access for my apartment would be a waste, as I will only be there when I sleep). iPhone was the cheapest mobile internet connection I could get in my area, and heck, mobile phone and I could get texting.

Never having used itouch, ipod, iphone etc (but having used wifi with my AT&T Tilt, which is slow and not very reliable... even using 802.11) my experience has been nothing less than eye opening. I even got my dad playing with the phones google maps application and he hates cell phones and thinks the internet should go away.

Slow speeds? Maybe in your area or you are just jumping on the att-hate bandwagon. I can download apps, maps, and watch videos perfectly fine.

My only beef with AT&Ts iPhone service is that it is expensive. Considering the bill is for phone service AND internet service it's fairly typical of what I'd pay if I had bought both as separate services.

Also, AT&T gives discounts depending on where you work. I qualified for a 24.1% discount on my bill... never had verizon do that for me, just my 2 cents.

@ andesfdfhdf
first you say that it was the cheapest internet connection for you, then you complain that it's too expensive... make up your mind, pal.
And to think that is with your 24.1% discount... i think they still took you for a ride...

as for overheating phones, you'll get a lot more in the months to come. Apple maximizes it's profits by cutting down quality materials and quality build on their phones, but again, so does every other manufacturer. They're no different, really...

@doc70

You might want to go back to school, you obviously can't reason correctly. Let me help you by combining my points: The internet feature for my iPhone was the cheapest MOBILE internet plan I could get (unlimited data). Yet, in the scope of what I used to pay when I spent more time in a home for home internet, it is expensive. Let me give you some numbers, maybe you'll understand those better:
Land line $15 + $20 DSL internet = $35.
Mobile phone cheapest plan $35 + $60 (5GB) cellular data plan = $95
iPhone with unlimited data and unlimited texting ~ $55 (varies with taxes and fees, factoring in my discount).
To reiterate again: iPhone is cheap considering my other options, but more expensive than what I used to deal with.
I hope that helps you understand where I was coming from.

P.S. I have had 0 issues so far with my phone. I heard about heat issues... but today I was charging my phone, with bluetooth enabled playing a game that streams content over an internet connection (it was using wifi). My phone got warm, but it was about as warm as body temperature, if not a little more.
