[citation][nom]acadia11[/nom]AntiMatter, are you serious? You can't be this brain washed , Who The **** is Ralph Stephenson that he can't answer an e-mail. Is this how business exists these days? If you walk into a restaurant and you ask for the manager because the service was horrendous is it logical that you shouldn't be able to speak to him? This is why banks could destroy the economy, because, there are people like you that some how think that individuals should not be accountable when it comes to business. Even on a basic level, I as an individual have every right to send an e-mail to the proprietor of a business, I could care less if he recieved 10 million e-mails in a day. If he doesn't answer, he doesn't answer, but the argument that you shouldn't be able to send the care taker of a business an e-mail is simply preposterous, and it's the reason why capitalism today as an economic system is doomed to failure because some where along the line someone got the idea that mega corporations were a good idea, and the complete removal of accountability to both communities where they did business as well as with the individuals they did business arose. When business becomes to big to fail, and corporations (have the rights of humans, there by shielding the individuals who run businesses from any ramifications from their actions), as well as the complete brain washing of individuals into believing such practise is beneficial to society then it's time to throw out the baby and the bath water. I simply read your post and couldn't believe what I was reading. It's like the argument against the government option, as though private insurance companies by default would do it better, somewhere along the line people seem to forget private entities are not hear to provide healthcare, or jobs, or even keep the economy going ... they are here to do one thing, make money for their share holders, hence, the wall street meltdown. In the same vain after reading your post I can see how this madness is allowed to continue. Tell Prince Stephenson I'll make sure my lowly peasent friends don't trespass again and we implore he not send us to the gallows. We fear his wrath. P.S. what other important decisions does Stephenson have to make other than to ensure that he keeps people buying his product? Ultimately, thatis his only job, while you consider it peon work, I consider it tantamount to his effectiveness as a CEO. SBC now ATT is the epitome of corporate power today, they are not succesful becuase they are a good company in the sense of to customers, but have positioned themselves such that they are effectively to large for others to compete.[/citation]
[citation][nom]JMcEntegart[/nom]Sorry about the link guys, all fixed!![/citation]

First off, acadia11, I don't know who Ralph Stephenson is, this article is about Randall Stephenson, so take time to read carefully before you falsely accuse anyone of being brainwashed. Second, if you would do your research, you would know that the major lending institutions had their arms twisted by the former administration to give every American the "right" to live the American dream of owning a home, regardless of whether they could afford the payments or not, so if you want to bring the banks into it, consider the cause, not just the effect. Even under Obama, you still have government meddling in business matters that are none of the government's business to meddle in. And contrary to your ignorant and arbitrary comments about "people like me" I fully believe in personal accountability--why didn't you accuse the borrowers of contributing to the downfall of the economy for signing up for loans they couldn't afford to make the first payment on?? Just as you have a right to send an email, a company has a right to react or respond in whatever way they see fit, otherwise it would not be legal. Also, how can you draw a parallel between complaining to a restaurant manager (still a burger flipper in many cases) to sending an unsolicited email to a CEO? When is the last time you went to a McDonald's, they forgot your fries, and you went back there, demanding to get the CEO on the phone? No, just as you stated, you ask to speak to a manager. Furthermore, if you think it's fine that a CEO receive "10 million e-mails a day" then don't expect that same CEO to ever get down to handling executive level duties, because he won't even be able to send/receive anymore emails, as well as many others sharing that same exchange server. Additionally, capitalism is not "doomed to failure" as you say, (sounds like a true ignorant socialist comment to me) rather it's when government tries to play a hand where they are largely not needed, wanted, and/or qualified (gov't healthcare option). If you think mega corporations are not a good idea, then fine, tell that to the millions of people employed by all those mega corporations, and to the people who receive their goods and services. Stephenson is no more shielded from his actions than any level 1 support rep. Have you not heard of boards of directors, influence by major shareholders, business ethics investigations, etc? Back to the gov't option, it can almost be argued that private companies would do it better by default....when is the last time big government did ANYTHING right, especially concerning health care? The money pit called Medicaid? Medicare? Are you freakin' serious?? You go right ahead and take your gov't option, right alone with the option to hope and pray that social security will sustain you in your twilight years, as if it will even be there at all, and I'll enjoy my individual freedom of choice (and personal accountability, might I add) and rely on the sweat of my own brow, my own prudent investment choices, and enjoy the fruits of my own labor, and not that of my predecessors or other tax payers. You have so many ridiculous statemens that speak to your OWN brainwashing by the left, it's almost pointless to attempt to get through to you. You say that private entities are not here to provide healthcare? Then what exactly are all those hospitals and health insurance companies here for? What is with you and the big evil corporation mantra, that is so typical of ultra left wingers? Is the gov't supposed to be responsible for your healthcare? Where in the constitution did you read that? Oh yeah, you most likely didn't. More socialist brainwashing, let the gov't be your mommy, daddy, doctor, finanical investor, and everything else that you have a "right" to have. Furthermore, if Stephenson's only job is to ensure that he keeps people buying his product, then how do you propose he go about that if he should be able to receive 10 million emails a day? Let's see how effective you would be professionally, given the same set of circumstances. Good or bad, you simply cannot have it both ways, that is why there is a such thing as chain of command, wherein issues should be handled at the lowest level. I'm still taken aback by your comments on the gov't option. Dude, do you not realise that the gov't is slowly taking over major industries in this country, which you seem to fully support, yet you suggest that "mega coporations" are not a good idea? Uh, how is the gov't any different, other than they have more power to interfere and ruin lives of people who just want to enjoy the freedoms that many veterans such as myself have proudly fought to protect? Educate yourself and take a good look in the mirror before you talk about who's brainwashed.

That fax number no longer works. As for Stephenson responding to the hoi peloi (sp), he has in the past.

AT&T, despite my account being current and paid in full, disconnected my service late Friday before Memorial Day weekend. All emails to its service department gets me "due to the status of your account you must call"... Did they all not realize that my phone is disconnected or are they that stupid?
