Question AT2020 Not Working?

So I just bought an at2020 mic and a cable for it. The light on the usb is blinking red and when I go to my recording devices it shows up as "usb audio device" not "at2020" and it doesnt pick up any sound when I talk.... I'm lost.

That was one of the first things I tried and it didn't make a difference. It detects that the mic is there and everything the only problem is when I talk it doesn't pick up any audio. No talking or sound.

did you try it on another computer/laptop?

update the driver of the USB audio device in the device manager of windows

Maybe the cable is defective or the mic itself

All drivers are up to date and both the mic and cable are brand new. I just received both and haven't used either once.

Best way to show my issue is this. I talked into both mics I have and next to it is the green bar picking up the audio. Mic 1 (current) pickups my audio, but Mic 2 (at2020) does not.

I saw somewhere that you have to have sufficient power to run the mic. Not sure if that helps troubleshooting, but I don't know anything about that. So I might not have enough power or something? or a different issue.

Ah of course, This mic needs phantom power. You will need something like this to provide 48Volt for this Mic:
