Now days, you pay 60$ up front, plus another 15$ each month. You can only play online (no private LANS w/o net access) and your pc gets rooted with DRM that doesn't let you upgrade your computer or install the game on your laptop at the same time. Plus you can't resell the game. Also, once you stop paying you own nothing and have no game.
