ATI vs NVIDIA

hi
i want a buy a new laptop
i shortlisted two of them with the configuration of
1 gb hard disk
4 gb ram
2 gb graphic card
intel i3 core 4th generation processer
click speed 1.7 ghz

the only difference between them is their dedicated graphic card

one has ATI DDR3 2GB and other has NVIDIA GEFORCE 820m DDR3 2GB

which one is better... suggest me guyzzz

Could you tell which version of ATI?

Also NVIDIA has better Driver support than ATI. Drivers are much more stable and gets updates frequently.

On first glance, I would go with the NVIDIA one.

In that case better go with the laptop with NVIDIA card. Better buy wjay you know and what you are buying than facing an issue with unwanted lag on things which need Graphic card later.

The Geforce 820m is pretty much useless. It's slower than the AMD mobility APU integrated graphics engines with 386 Radeon cores (Trinity, Richland and Kaveri) and pulls more wattage, too.

I agree APUs would be much better. Kaveri specially. But then again, it will depend on which family it belongs to. APUs use part of the RAM installed in the system as there Graphic Memory when needed. So larger RAM size would be installed in a laptop using an APU. The option he had was just for the Graphic cards. As I understood it. Correct me if I am wrong please.

But seriously, if you plan this laptop for gaming, I would strongly recommend another one.
