audio problem sony

I just got the bravia led 40 inches I connected dvd player via av rca and took audio out from tv via audio rca to stereo system and no signal to stereo only sound from tv helpppp

Your TV may only output audio from its own tuner. Check the audio menu and see if there is any options for this. If not use a pair of "Y" connectors to split the audio output of the DVD to both the TV and stereo. If you only need DVD sound to the stereo then connect directly.
By the way your DVD would look better if you connect it with HDMI or component video.
