Hey, thanks for your answer. I was wondering if there were any better alternatives ? Are the box receivers more expensive than a audio card ? Also, what type of cable am i going to need for this ? Also, the cheapest sound card for me right now is Asus XONAR DG, will this work ?

Yeah the xonar has an optical spdif. You will need the following cable.

A decent AV receiver will set you back a bit. Probably 10 times the cost of a card. Although a new receiver will give you things like DTS MA whereas this amp most probably only does DTS.
