Question Yamaha RX-V1600 Surround Audio Issue?

I recently reset my Yamaha unit and reconfigured it using the mic and everything but listening to music the sound is noticeably less full. Volume as well is quiet and it seems to no longer use my 7.1 surround system correctly. Is there any way to assure its using the full 7.1 system? I've already attempted basic EQ and the multiple room presets.

Ensure all speakers are connected correctly, configure for 7.1 surround sound, use speaker calibration, and experiment with different audio modes for optimal experience.
