Hello,

I have installed a 6 zone house audio system in a remodel home for a client. After setting up the system I noticed a popping in one of the speaker locations. after much troubleshooting, the problem still exists. I thought it might be a short in the line so I have re-terminated everything and yet no luck. it is a fairly extensive system running video distribution, automation control, and audio, which all work, I just can't get this clipping to stop in this pair of speakers.

any ideas?
thanks

Solution
DC on the speaker wire can cause popping while playing. Check that. Bad amp channels would be the cause.
If the popping doesn't happen when you turn the volume down then the speakers may be over driven in that zone. The popping is the woofer exceeding its maximum throw. Speakers with larger woofers would be a solution.
If the noise is constant then the amplifier or whatever you are using to control and make zones could have a problem on that zone. Try connecting those speakers to a different zone.
