Audio trouble connecting Air Antenna with Onkyo Receiver

I have an over the air antenna connected ot my TV and an optic cable to my Onkyo Receiver for audio but the audio goes from good to terribly delayed to audio that doesn't even go with the channel I'm watching. It's not a sync issue, I've tested that.

If you enable the speakers on the TV does it match what is coming out of the receiver?
