Did you mean 119, 121 ??
The sat at 121 uses normal linear polarization so you should be able to
receive it with no problem with a standard LNBF, but it is all encrypted.
I think I recall an unencrypted channel that showed a blue background
with gold lettering which proclaimed "Congradulations ... You have a Dish
500 System!" or something like that. That channel did have some very
nice music playing in the background with no interruptions. I have left
it playing a few times for background music. It is well worth adding to
your repertoire (sp??).
The sat at 119 has a lot of music cahnnels of most genres and are not
encrypted. I was not able to receive any of them with a "standard" LNBF
although I picked up about 5 or 6 channels of music, it was very marginal
with my 90cm dish. I fixed that problem by going down to Walmart and
spending $39.95 for a DirecTV replacement LNBF and strapping it to the
side of my standard LNBF and aiming the dish 3 degrees off-center. I get
a very strong signal with 98% quality and perfect reception of most if
not all of the music channels. I haven't used it that much because ny
Total Choice subscription to DirecTV includes 30+ music channels and I am
just used to it and can select my favorite channels instinctively in the
dark.
I am using a Fortec Lifetime receiver with a 90cm Fortec Star antenna so
it does not apply directly to your situation but you did say "All info
appreciated."
Good luck,
PON
