government mandated rateing is not the same as a 3rd party board that we currently have
these boards are set up in fear of government regulation
the reason we dont have AO games on consoles is because no one will allow them on the console, and even if you could get microsoft/sony/nintendo to ok it, you would still have places like wallmart who would refuse to carry adult material.
at least in the states, its not illegal to sell an AO game, its just not a financially viable market to make a game for. technically i have an AO ps2 game, but i cant consider that AO because you have to hack the game save and game itself to access the offending content.
