Autocad 2010 vs Pro/Engineer

Hello,
i want to know the differeces between the autodesk autoCAD2010 and Pro/engineer.
1. why we use pro/ instead of autocad?
2.which is the most efficient software for mechanical engineers and why??

1. Because ACAD is terrible for modeling, and P/E has some kind of interface with the manufacturing process.

2. P/E. Although I use ACAD, it really, really sucks.

I have not used pro engineer but have been very happy with AutoCAD. It all depends on what you want to do. For serious civil and architectural drawings Revit is pretty good. For mechanical uses, go with Solidworks.

You can save Solidworks and AutoCAD files in .dxf format which can by uploaded to CNC machines and other computer guided machining tools. In the end it depends on what you are using it for and what industry standard you must apply to.
