AVG License and Error Issue

My AVG has worked just fine until a couple days ago, now when my PC boots up it tells me;

"AVG License Error
AVG is not able to recognize you License Number."

I don't think the license needs re upping since my dad buys it for I think 3 other computers excluding mine and hes not getting this and his license is still good.


And when I try to update, install or uninstall AVG I get this error message;

"Service 'AVG Firewall' (avgfws) could not be stopped. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to stop system services.

Error Code: 0xC0070643
Error Message: General internal error.
Additional Error Message: MSI Engine: Failed to install the product.

Who has full admin rights to your computer - you or your Dad?

How many AVG licenses is your Dad paying for? He may not longer wish to pay for your system.

I have full admin rights.

I have talked to him, hes as baffled as I am.

Log into AVG's site via your registration information - see how many installations they have on record with respect to your/Dad's license key.

And their FAQ's/forum might provide some additional insight with respect to a fully meaning of the error code (Error Code: 0xC0070643).
