Backup software

I am building a new gaming rig and I need a good backup solution.

I will run my OS and most apps off a 128GB SSD and also have a Samsung Spinpoint to hold my data.

I have a 2tb WD Passport external HD that I wish to utilize as a backup device.

I have next to no knowledge of how to go about this.

Ideally, I'd like the backup to be a mirror of both the SSD and HD, so if I crash for whatever reason, I can restore the system like it was.

Any advice?

I use Acronis, but try Macrium reflect free edition, great for creating and restoring images.
