bassbite V (KLH) subwoofer hum

I returned from vacation to find subject subwoofer loudly hummmmming! Input receiver was off, as were all electronics in area. Disconnected receiver Sub Out cable from unit "R" input connection, still hums. Volume knob on rear of unit doesn't affect hum!
Can't understand what initiated problem ALL OF A SUDDEN, while no one home! Speaker included in HTA-4908 Home Theater Speaker Ensemble by KLH. All other "satellite speakers" with system seem to be working okay with output from same Pioneer unit (VSX-D711).
Nice unit, until now, trouble-free and good sound! (AC powered unit.) Can you help!

If the sub is humming with the input cable disconnected then it is a power supply problem,more than likely one of the smoothing capacitors has failed.
