Battery 0% (Plugged in but not charging)

Hi recently my laptop battery has stopped charging up when it is plugged into the mains. I can use the laptop but if the power lead is removed the laptop shuts down. I have tried removing the battery and can use the mains to power the laptop and have also made sure there wasnt any dust or anything inside the laptop. Does anyone know of any ideas on what i can do to get my battery to charge again while i've got the laptop plugged into the mains?

Just means your battery is dead, buy a new battery
