why is my battery doing this its a Asus its about 2 years old or less than two years the battery stays at 83% and is not charging when the laptop is plugged in please help

Does it charge when it is turned off? If yes, then it is probably the charger cord and not the battery.

I would really try a different cord and see if that resolves it. Not buy one, just see if you can borrow one (know anyone with a similar device?)

I have the same problem in my asus lapop!red light blinking and doesnt charge more than 90%.I think the battery is dying.and it has only 6 months!the reason may be the way you use it.normaly you must use it and full charge it at least one time/month!
